Today we completed another reading task. First, we had to pick and read a book for 15 minutes. Then we had to answer 6 questions, take a snapshot of the book and put it in the thing link to post in our blog. Here is my task I have complete. Thanks to the national library. How we got to New Zealand.

This week with James for cyber smart, we were learning about why people come to new Zealand. James shared with us a map so we could also share where we were born with room 8 and 9. Here is the map we made....



James also made some questions  for us to answer. Here are the questions. You can answer them in the comments if you like!

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?
 Joshua Cossey had to go over 80,00 KM to get to here. Faidhi Also had to take over 80,00 Km to get here.

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

There are many different reasons for people to move countries. Take China as a example, you can't have more than 1 child there. And some people come to New Zealand because of wars in other countries.

Is this a trend in NZ society? What does the media tell us?
This is a trend around New Zealand, but not all New Zealand. The media is telling us that people are taking over all New Zealand and that there are going to be no more houses for New Zealand people.


James also showed us a video that is emotional but powerful. It is about year 4 children saying lies that people told them and the year 4 children what is the lie and what is not. Here is the video he showed us. Please feel free to comment!

When I watched this video I felt sad, But later on, they said what is the truth about what people said about them. I am a Muslim, and this is true, I am not a terrorist. What they said is true. White and black people are not bad. We can talk english well. I felt so happy when this video finished. It made me feel strong.

My famous idol.

A week ago, as a class project, we had to make a slide about our favourite famous idol. We had to find facts about the person/team we were doing. My one is about Maher Zain. He is a singer in a language named Arabic. Here is my slide. there are some facts about him if you want to know him better. Please feel free to comment!

Where were we born?

On Monday, James came to room 7 to teach us something about maps. He told us to go to our cyber smart page and write our names and where we were born. Then told us to go on to maps and write where every person in room 7 was born in. Most of them were born in Auckland hospital. This is what I did. Please feel free to comment.

On Monday 10 October James came in our classroom to teach us about what is trolling online. He told us about what to do when we are being trolled. We have written a scenario about what to do. Here is my scenario... What will you do if that happens to you? Will you fight back?

My clay artwork

This term Room 7 have been working really hard making clay sculptures. We made these for our art festival. We used loads of paint to make these mythical creatures. Mythical creatures are stuff that are not real and made made up of different animals and creatures. Everyone in the class used the hard clay but I used toilet paper, PVA glue, water and some whitening powder. The progress was sticky in the beginning but later on it became hard and it stuck to our hands. We used google slides, docs and drawings to describe the clay we made. Our book Trailers...

For the past two weeks, Room 7 had been making a book trailer about to advertise the books in our library. We used Imovie to make these trailers. We worked really hard to come up with some awesome work. We tried finding pictures about them. When it was our assembly, Mr Ross our teacher selected 5 trailers to show to the school assembly. In the assembly, when the trailers were playing, all of the students were screaming ''wow!!!" Here is my trailer...

My Circuit

On Monday Room's 7, 8 and 9 went to the hall to learn about how circuit's work. We all got into groups of threes and were given a brain box kit with many different types of circuits in it. The 3 classes were very exited about this subject. When we opened the box we found a booklet full of ideas. My group decided to make a speaker circuit and it made a huge screaming noise. It was screaming like this..."WEWOWEWOWEWO!!!!!!!!!" Here is a look at what my circuit looked like and what all the different parts do.
